When are practices?
Practice days and times vary by team and are decided by the coach.
If you would like to choose your practice days, we encourage you to become a coach!
Schoolyard and 6U practice Friday nights 30 minutes before their game.
8U have one 60 minute practice per week.
10U and 12U have two 60 minute practices per week.
14U and 18U have two 90 minute practices per week.
When and where are games played?
- Schoolyard and 6U play Friday nights at Crossings Park: 1111 Crestdale Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89144
- 8U - 18U play Saturdays at Summerlin Centre Community Park: 10588 Marketwalk Pl, Las Vegas, NV 89135
- Depending on scheduling 8U - 18U may play some Friday evenings at Summerlin Centre Community Park
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are given up to the first week of practice. If a player has not participated in practices or games, a full refund is given.
If a player participates after the 1st practice, no refund will be given.
Refunds are division fee only, the AYSO $20 membership fee is non-refundable. Membership is paid once per year from July 1st- June 30th.
If you are charged twice in that year time, please make sure you do not have double accounts.
Please email our commissioner for refunds. What equipment will my child need?
Shin guards are mandatory during all practices and games.
Full-coverage shoes are required, and it is advisable to use shoes designed specifically for soccer.
A limited number of balls will be supplied, but it is ideal for every child to have their own soccer ball for practicing and playing on their own. (Schoolyard, 6U - 8U use a size 3 soccer ball. 10U - 12U use a size 4 soccer ball. 14U and up use a size 5 soccer ball.)
Weather varies in the high desert, so please prepare and dress accordingly.
Plenty of water.
Our AYSO teams play games in uniforms supplied by the region which are included in the registration fee. Regions also provide field equipment, such as goals, nets and flags.
Can my player play in an older division?
The region will consider this on a case by case basis. Please email your request to the Regional Commissioner and the board will decide based on the player's evalution. Please understand that all decisions are made in the best interest of the player and will be final.
Can my player be on the same team as their friend?
One of AYSO core values is to have balanced teams for fair and fun play. We may have special occasions or registration specials when they can register play with a friend.
Can I request my coach?
In order to help balance teams, the only coach requests that we take is to match the coach with their child.
When do I get contacted by my coach?
Coaches will be receiving their team rosters a week or two prior to practices beginning. Coaches will receive their team roster at the coaches meeting and will contact their players prior to practices starting.
I'm on the waitlist, will my child get to play? What can I do to make sure they get off the waitlist and onto a team??
Volunteer!! We are an organization run entirely by volunteers. That means we need you, parents, to step up and be our coaches and referees. We open up more teams as we get coaches and referees to cover those teams. If you are willing to be a coach or referee so that we can open up more teams and get your child off the waitlist and onto the roster, fill out a volunteer application and let us know you are ready to step up by emailing us at [email protected]. No previous soccer experience is required. We have coach and referee trainers ready to help you out.
What training is required for volunteers?
AYSO provides training for all of our volunteers. All volunteers will need to complete the following:
- BACKGROUND CHECK - Completed through Sterling Volunteers
- SAFE SPORT - Completed through US Center for Safe Sport
- AYSO SAFE HAVEN COURSE
- CDC CONCUSSION PROTOCAL COURSE
- AYSO SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST COURSE
- AYSO TRAINING COURSE (There are courses for COACHES, REFEREES, BOARD MEMBER or VOLUNTEER Training by Job Description)
