10U Division

10U Division

Players:

 

  • 10U has a Boys Division and a Girls Division
  • For Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 players in this division were born in 2009 and 2010 
Teams:

 

  • Maximum Roster: Ten (10) players per team.
  • Numbers: Seven (7) players per team on the field, including a goalkeeper. Games may not start or continue if there are less than five (5) players on a team.
  • Substitutions: Between quarters, at halftime and for injuries.
  • Playing Time: Minimum of three (3) quarters per game and no player shall play four (4) quarters until everyone has played three quarters.
Practices and Games:

 

  • Frequency: Three soccer events per week. Games are played on Saturdays and some weeknights.
  • Duration: Practices are 1 hour in length. Games consist of two 25-minute halves with substitutions at the midpoint of each half. The halftime break is 5-10 minutes.
  • Location:  Practices and games are at Summerlin Community Park.

  • Supervision: A ratio of one adult for every eight (8) or fewer players must be followed. At least two adults must be present at all practices and in the coaching box at games. At least one adult needs to be the same gender as the players. One of the supervising adults may be an AYSO certified team parent.
Build-Out Line (10U Division):

 

    1. The build-out line shall be placed across the field equidistant between the top of the penalty area and the halfway line.
    2. The opposing team must move behind the build-out line for a goal kick or when the goalkeeper has possession. At any time, the goalkeeper may pass, throw or roll the ball to a teammate who is behind the build-out line.
    3. The goalkeeper or the player taking the goal kick does not have to wait for the opposing players to move behind the build-out line. The play from the goalkeeper or from the goal kick must be played to a teammate behind the build-out line. After the ball is put into play, the opposing team can then cross the build-out line and play may resume as normal. The first touch is from the goal kick or the pass from the goalkeeper.
    4. The build-out line shall be used as the line to determine offside. Players cannot be penalized for an offside offense between the halfway line and the build-out line.
Equipment:

 

  • Ball Size: 4
  • Shin guards must be worn under the socks, next to the skin, and cannot be exposed.No player will be allowed to participate without shin guards.
  • Soccer cleats are recommended, although gym shoes or sneakers are permissible.
  • Players are encouraged to bring their own soccer ball and water bottle. Please remember to write your last name on your soccer ball and personal items.
Volunteers:

 

  • Coaches: 2 coaches per team – Safe Haven and 10U Coach certified (or higher).
  • Referees: Each team is required to provide one (or more) AYSO-certified referee. 
AYSO relies on its Assistant Referee Volunteers for its 10U - 18U Division games.

Please have one parent from each team attend Assistant Referee or Referee Training. Division 10U – 18U teams having at least one parent who is a certified referee, will receive priority in being assigned complete referee teams for their games
Tournaments:

  • Each team will participate in the Summerlin Region 1258 year-end tournament.
  • The two top 10U Division boys teams and the top two 10U Division girls teams from the Summerlin Region 1258 Fall 2018 Tournament will participate in the Area 1S Tournament in Bullhead City, Arizona, on December 1-2, 2018.
